Povey's transatlantic journey to ECRM began almost a decade ago when he became a sophomore sports coach.
"At that time, I found out my girlfriend was pregnant," said Povey. "I had about $ 36 for my name."
Povey said he planned to go to university to become a sports coach, but that would have cost between $ 40,000 and $ 50,000.
“But my priorities were clear. I dropped out of college and got a full-time job to save money for the birth of my son, ”Povey said, adding that he was applying for jobs all over the Flyde Coast because he didn't have a car or could not afford driving lessons.
Then Povey received a call from a local sports nutrition company.
"I washed cars back then and with the little money I had saved, I took a bus to a nearby town to buy a suit for the interview," Povey said.
The interview went well.
"I found out that I was interviewed by the manager of one of the UK's leading sports nutrition companies," said Povey, adding that he was one of around 250 applicants.
Two days after the interview, Povey received a call saying he was being hired.
"Even though I wasn't familiar with the sports nutrition industry, I was hired to run the online store," said Povey.
Wanting to be a sports coach, Povey received university-level training on sports nutrition, products, company, customer care, and ingredients through his new job.
"I quickly found my passion for nutrients and how they can benefit people," said Povey. “I started creating formulas for products and giving them to my boss to add to his nutritional brand. I've tried this about eight to ten times and each time I've been told to leave the product development process to him and do my duties under my job description.
